Gracious Seniors is a program for retired people of all ages, held on the third Thursdays of February, May, August and November. The group shares a meal at noon and then sees a presentation from that month's guest speaker. Our programs are very interesting and are open to anyone, Grace members and non-members alike. It is a wonderful afternoon of food, fellowship, and fun. Please RSVP so they have a ballpark idea of how much food to prepare.
The next Senior Luncheon will be held on Thursday, August 21 at 12:00 pm in Fellowship Hall. We will serve hamburger BBQs; please bring sides, desserts, or beverages to share. The program for August will feature music and comedy by our “Belznickel” Keith Brinzenhoff, who also sings and plays several musical instruments. It should be a lot of fun. Plan on joining us for lunch at noon and a wonderful afternoon of entertainment with a PA Dutch flavor. See you in August!
Do you or perhaps a friend have an interesting hobby or pictures from a trip that you would like to share at one of our future Senior Luncheons? We have had some great programs presented by our own members and are always looking for more. Talk with Sandy Schantz (contact info above) if you are interested in sharing.
Past Gatherings
The most recent gathering was on Thursday May 15 at 12:00 pm. The program following the meal was presented by our own Carol Grubb, on her hobby of growing orchids in her basement. She lovingly nurtures them to provide many beautiful flowers for herself and others to enjoy. The meal featured Harold Moyer's family favorite, Hamburger and Macaroni Casserole.
The Gracious Seniors met November 14, 2024 for a delicious meal of sausage and homemade corn fritters. This was followed by an interesting program presented by a representative from Premier Senior Placement from Allentown. They exist to help families with Elder Care Law, Medical Advocates, Rehab (PT, OT, and Speech), Home Nursing Support, Transportation, and Senior Moving Companies. The second half of the program was presented by Grace Parish Nurse Kim Vaupel, who talked about the "Brotherly Love" Parish Nursing program.
On May 16 of 2024, Rev. Rachael Dietz and Chipotle gave an informative, funny, and touching presentation. Thank you to Al McCrae for the AV setup, to Judy Reppert for the Thrivent sponsorship, and to Sandy Schantz and Dennis Meck for cooking and serving the meal.
