Gracious Seniors is a program for retired people of all ages, held on the third Thursdays of February, May, August and November. The group shares a meal at noon and then sees a presentation from that month's guest speaker. Our programs are very interesting and are open to anyone, Grace members and non-members alike. It is a wonderful afternoon of food, fellowship, and fun. Please RSVP so they have a ballpark idea of how much food to prepare.
Next Luncheon Gathering - Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 12 pm. Diane Davidson will be at Grace to tell us about the tremendous outreach being done by "The Kindness Project." This organization provides free support to foster families by giving clothing, shoes, car seats, beds, school supplies, and other essential items to children in the foster care system. Foster families often receive short notice that a child or even an infant will be coming to them, sometimes as quickly as overnight. The Kindness Project helps in such instances and throughout the year, such as by covering the cost for music lessons or sports for kids in foster care. We'll learn what we can do to help with their outreach.
The meal this month will be ham and green beans and potatoes, but any sides or beverages you would like to bring would be greatly appreciated. Our dessert for the luncheon will be furnished by The Legend of Allentown Assisted Living and Memory Care Residence, located on Lower Macungie Road, Macungie. Thanks to Vanessa Hearn from The Legend for providing yummy pies to finish off our meal. We'll also hear from her about the wonderful care available to us and our loved ones at this facility. This will be an event filled with learning, good food, socializing. Please join us!
Do you or perhaps a friend have an interesting hobby or pictures from a trip that you would like to share at one of our future Senior Luncheons? We have had some great programs presented by our own members and are always looking for more. Talk with Sandy Schantz (contact info above) if you are interested in sharing.
