Gracious Seniors is a program for retired people of all ages, held on the third Thursdays of February, May, August and November. The group shares a meal at noon and then sees a presentation from that month's guest speaker. Our programs are very interesting and are open to anyone, Grace members and non-members alike. It is a wonderful afternoon of food, fellowship, and fun. Please RSVP so they have a ballpark idea of how much food to prepare. The next gathering will be Thursday February 20 at 12:00 pm. The program following the meal will be "When the Emaus Band Went to War," presented by Bill Barto (who last did a presentation on kids' TV shows of the 1950s). More information and sign up sheets are coming in the new year.
November Luncheon Gathering The Gracious Seniors got together on Thursday, November 14 at noon for a delicious meal of sausage and homemade corn fritters. Then we had an interesting program presented by a representative from Premier Senior Placement from Allentown. They are here to help families with Elder Care Law, Medical Advocates, Rehab (PT, OT, and Speech), Home Nursing Support, Transportation, and Senior Moving Companies. The second half of our program was presented by our Parish Nurse Kim Vaupel, who talked about the "Brotherly Love" Parish Nursing program here at Grace.
Do you or perhaps a friend have an interesting hobby or pictures from a trip that you would like to share at one of our future Senior Luncheons? We have had some great programs presented by our own members and are always looking for more. Talk with Sandy Schantz (contact info above) if you are interested in sharing.
On Thursday, May 16 at noon, Rev. Rachael Dietz and Chipotle gave an informative, funny, and touching presentation. Thank you to Al McCrae for the AV setup, to Judy Reppert for the Thrivent sponsorship, and to Sandy Schantz and Dennis Meck for cooking and serving the meal.
