Confirmation is a two-year (grade 7-8) educational and pastoral ministry of congregations and families. Our goal with this program is to help students identify more deeply with the Christian community and participate more fully in its mission. It concludes with a ceremony called Confirmation, in which the individual affirms the promises made by their parents at their baptism (which is why it is also called Affirmation of Baptism). Martin Luther wrote the Small Catechism so that parents could teach their children about the faith, and so at Grace, we see confirmation as a whole-family, faith-formation effort whose goal is a growing, personal, and life-long relationship with God.
Classes usually meet in the Chapel following the 10:30 worship service (approximately 11:30 am), although sometimes there are activities on other days and/or times. If you have any questions about the program or wish to enroll your child, please contact the church office or Pastor Samantha.
